Essential Solsona »
A circular underground structure covered with a dome, which was used to store the ice obtained from the Riu Negre (river) or from the Bòfia cave.
It was in use from the 17th to the 19th century. Over the coldest months, the ice was kept in the well and from spring to autumn it was sold.
Saturdays from 11.00 am – 12.30 pm and from 5.00 pm – 6.30 pm
Sundays and holidays, from 11.00 am – 12.30 pm
Closed on public holidays February the 23rd, September the 11th, December the 25th and 26th and January the 1st and 6th.
At Easter, long weekends and summer, also open on weekdays. See the image of opening hours.
Price: General 3 €; reduced entry 2€ (aged between 8 – 16, over 65 or retired and groups). Free under 8 years.
