Ice Well

A circular underground structure covered with a dome, which was used to store the ice obtained from the Riu Negre (river) or from the Bòfia cave. It was in use from the 17th to the 19th century. Over the coldest months, the ice was kept in the well and from spring to autumn it was sold.

Discover how ice production, storage and sells has worked for over 200 years! Ideal for families and children.
