Museumised remains of the moat and the medieval wall

In 2012, some medieval remains discovered in the private courtyard of the Bishop’s Palace were put on display. This shows what the moat looked like; filled with water, it defended the walled enclosure during the 14th century. It is a four-metre-deep trench carved out of the natural rock, designed to protect the population from potential enemy attacks.
You can also see the remains of a clear example of the fortifications commissioned by Ramon Folc X, Viscount of Cardona.
