Torre de Riner

Time: 2 h 25 min Distance: 10 km Difficulty: Easy Elevation gain: 88 m

The Black River is the riverine axis that runs through the landscape of the municipality of Solsona: it collects the waters of the wooded ravines to the north of Solsona, crosses the city beneath the main bridge that leads to the historic centre, and continues downstream to the confluence with the Cardener. Halfway down the valley lies Riner, a small medieval hamlet with a square tower that has stood by the river since the 10th century, silently watching over this mysterious and little-known stretch of the river. The route takes us from Solsona to the hamlet of Riner along a path that follows the course of the River Negre all the way.
